February at Rooftop Angels: Honoring History, Strengthening Community, and Building Stronger Roofs

Published on February 7, 2026 at 7:05 PM

February is a meaningful time for reflection, service, and connection. As we move through the winter season—a time when roofs are tested the most—we are reminded why Rooftop Angels exists: to ensure that families, seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and those facing financial hardship have access to safe, reliable shelter.

This month also holds special significance as we recognize Black History Month, a time to honor resilience, leadership, and the enduring commitment to community that has shaped our nation and continues to inspire the work we do every day.

Honoring Legacy Through Service

Black History Month is about more than remembering the past—it is about carrying forward a legacy of service, empowerment, and opportunity. Many of the communities we serve have historically faced barriers to safe housing, access to resources, and affordable home repairs. At Rooftop Angels, our mission is rooted in breaking down those barriers and ensuring that everyone—regardless of income or circumstance—has access to the dignity and security of a safe home.

Every roof we repair or replace represents more than construction work. It represents stability for a family, safety for an elder, hope for someone rebuilding their life, and opportunity for individuals learning new skills through our programs.

Programs That Reflect Our Commitment

Our initiatives continue to grow because of the strength of our community and the dedication of our volunteers and partners:

  • Shining Stars Program: Providing hands-on trade experience and life skills training for youth, individuals in recovery, and those seeking a fresh start.

  • Helping Angels: Supporting individuals rebuilding their lives by connecting them with meaningful work and community support.

  • Jarred Up Program: Bringing volunteers together to prepare meals for individuals experiencing homelessness and for truck drivers serving our region.

  • Angels Hands: Creating meaningful items such as recovery bracelets and comfort crafts that bring encouragement to individuals in hospitals and recovery programs.

Each of these programs reflects a broader commitment to empowerment—helping people not only receive assistance but also become active participants in rebuilding their lives and communities.

Preparing for the Season Ahead

Winter weather and seasonal storms continue to bring increased requests for assistance. Our team is actively preparing to meet the needs of homeowners facing roof damage, leaks, and structural concerns. While we cannot meet every request alone, we remain committed to ensuring that no one is left without guidance or resources. Partnerships with local contractors, nonprofits, and community organizations allow us to extend our reach and continue serving those in need.

How You Can Be Part of the Mission

As we honor Black History Month and continue our work through February, we invite our community to join us in strengthening neighborhoods and supporting families in need:

  • Volunteer your time or skills

  • Partner with us as a contractor or community organization

  • Donate materials or financial resources

  • Share our mission with others who believe in building stronger communities

Looking Forward

Rooftop Angels was founded on the belief that service is more than a project—it’s a promise to stand with our community through every season. February reminds us that history is built through action, collaboration, and compassion. Together, we can continue creating safe homes, stronger futures, and opportunities for those who need it most.

Thank you for being part of the Rooftop Angels family and for helping us turn compassion into action every single day.
